A Bit About Mrs. Gilbert
Hey everyone, my name is Audre Gilbert. I want to start off by telling you all a bit about myself. I graduated from Ider High School in 2007, and I have to joy of teaching here. I received my associates degree from Northeast Alabama Community College in 2009. I took some time off from school because of a job promotion; it seemed worth leaving school for, but boy was I wrong. During my time away from school, I became a wife to my husband Adrian and a mom to two awesome boys Trace and Porter. After having Porter, we decided it was time for me to go back to school and get my degree.
I attended Athens State University and graduated with my Bachelor's degree in English/Language Arts with a minor in Education. Other than teaching, I also love to sing, paint, sew, make people laugh by acting silly, and spend lots of time with my very large family. I have had the opportunity of teaching wonderful students, sponsoring our schools yearbook staff, and sponsoring our seniors. I am now pursuing a Master's of Arts in Teaching with a major in English Language Arts.
I am super excited about getting to teach you this year. I know I am going to learn as much from you as you will from me. We can't learn if we don't ask questions, so please know that I am always here to help. You can reach me by email or phone.

This is a very powerful poem by Taylor Mali.
Please excuse the language at the end; it wouldn't be my choice of words to show emphasis!
